This area contains some of the better joke, poems, and miscellaneous items
I have found over the years. My father was quite a poet, and I've often felt
his work merited publication. As time permits I will include some of his poems.
I hope you enjoy these as much as I have!
Benefits of Getting Older - This one arrived on
one of the e-mail joke lists and I thought it was something worth sharing.
English - Ever wonder why the English language
can be difficult for some people? Take a look!
Feeling Old? - This is a very interesting observation
about the young people who are just entering college in 1997.
Football - Years ago there was a record out entitled "What
is was was Football." This joke reminds me a lot of that recording.
Guide To Being A Texan - Another e-mail joke I received.
I liked it well enough to include it on the web site.
History - I received this one as an e-mail one
day, and thought it definitely worth putting up on the Internet to share.
It will be of particular interest to teachers!
History II - Another e-mail!
Software - Don't let the title on this one fool
you! This is one that both husbands and wives can share with their spouses
and friends!
Your Boss & You - This one sure hits it on the
head!
Alone - This is a poem pondering whether we are
alone in the universe. I think it is very good.
Gentle Man - This is one of the first poems my
father wrote. I have always liked it as I thought my grandfather was one
of the finest people I ever knew. My dad passed away in August of 1997, and
this is the first of his poems I wanted to share.
Old Age Prayer - My next door neighbor, a spry
woman in her 80s, found this poem some place. I liked it well enough that
I actually made it into a refrigerator magnet and a copy is on several refrigerators
in the neighborhood at this point!
